DESCRIPTION :
The total set up comprises of Centrifugal fan which blows air
through a square duct which consists of several sections as
following.
(A) INITIAL CONDITIONING SECTION
This section comprises of a cooling coil circuit, heater section
and steam humidification system. This section enables simulation
of normal year round weather conditions to some extent in the
confined space of the duct.
B) FIRST OBSERVATION SECTION
This section consists of flow stabilization zone and temperature
measurement section. Here condition of simulated air coming out
of the first conditioning section is observed and recorded.
C) SECOND CONDITIONING SECTION
This section incorporates cooling coil, heaters and humidifier
tubes as in first conditioning section. The equipment
incorporated in this section can be operated suitably to bring
final air condition somewhere near comfort conditioning zone.
D) SECOND OBSERVATION SECTION
This section incorporates flow stabilization zone and
measurement section where final condition of air is observed and
recorded after conditioning the same in second conditioning
section. |

Air conditioning is simultaneous
control of temperature, humidity, air motion and purity of the
atmosphere in a confined space. Air conditioning Trainer
facilitates study of such air conditioning process especially
related to comfort conditions. Unique facility of simulation of
summer and winter conditions in the duct is speciality of Air
Conditioning Trainer. |

1. Duct Size :
250 mm x 250mm x 2m. long (approx.)
2. Blower Fan : Driven by 0.5 H.P. (Approx.) 3 phase motor. Air
flow 0.28 m/Sec. With butterfly valve inlet to control air flow
rate.
3. Digital Temperature Indicator :
0-2000 C with 10 C least count, multi channel.
4. Steam Generator : compact unit provided with 1.5 Kw. Heater
for generating steam.
Connected to both sections by insulated piping through hand
control valves.
5. First and Second conditioning sections comprises of following
:
a) Electrical Heater : finned U Tube air heaters 0.5 Kw.
Capacity.
b) Dimmerstat : 230 V.A.C. Single phase, 5-10 Amp. Capacity.
Common for both sections with selector swithch.
c) Energy Meter : 230 V.A.C. Single phase 5-10 Amp. Capacity.
d) High pressure Gauge for R-12 Refrigerant.
e) Low Pressure Gauge for R-12 Refirigerant.
f) Refrigerant flow meter for R-12 Refrigerant.
g) Cooling Unit : Comprising of sealed compressor, air cooled
condenser, expansion valve and cooling coil in duct.
Capacity : i) 1st section 2/3 Ton
ii) 2nd section 1/3 Ton
h) HP-LP Cut out of suitable range.
7. Control panel consisting of proper switches and valves.
8. Sturdy fabricated frame for housing the duct, instrumentation
and controls.
9. Dry and wet bulb thermometers 2 sets. |
